 AWESOME, worth the money- if you can get your hands on one December 2, 2008
I will have to admit, when Oprah showed this product on her show and showed it with such enthusiasm, I had to look into the Kindle. It is great. You save money, trees, space, and you can "carry" as many books as you want with you. The only kinks I would have to say are: You have to be careful when you first handle it to not turn pages accidentally, and be careful when inserting the Kindle into the cover because it isn't always secure inside the cover. Lastly, if the power button wasn't on the back, which means you have to lift it out of the cover, then maybe it wouldn't be given a chance to come loose and fall out. BUT...none of these "flaws" would make me not buy this all over again. I LOVE MY AMAZON KINDLE. Maybe one these of days it will be able to have the capability to add color and maybe even comic books !!

The concept is great however, it is very hard to hold without hitting next page or previous page. More thought should be put into the construction.

I recently purchased a Kindle and really like it. It reads easy; also, purchasing a book is so quick and easy and affordable. I am presently reading "Twilight." Very happy with the Kindle book reader, as I love to read. Thanks, Oprah - saw it on her show and also received a $50.00 savings. Can't beat that.

This product is amazing. It delivers what it promises - wirelessly downloading your purchase in under a minute. It was easy to read. My disappointment was in the design. The 'next page' features are on the edges and you are constantly changing pages when you don't mean to. Color would be a big plus - especially if you plan to download magazines and other material with pictures. I returned my product and decided to wait for some improvements in the design and reduction in price. I also have a concern that like everything else, prices of reading material will go up. Unlike owning a book, you can't share it, donate it or display it, and once you've read it, you've read it. I would hate to invest this much in a reading device and have the ebooks become priced above what makes sense to purchase them.Kindle: Amazon's Wireless Reading Device

I received my Kindle as a birthday gift from my husband a month ago. I have been reading reviews since its launch and admittedly was still on the fence. I'm an avid reader and I love everything about reading including the smell of a book as well as the touch of the pages. Would I miss these with an electronic reader? The answer is no! I love the Kindle! It's my first experience with an electronic reader so I have nothing to compare. I think it's perfect. I take a book everywhere and love to read outside. I can see the screen perfectly and I don't have to fight pages blowing in the wind. I love the adjustable font sizes. If I forget my glasses I just change the size. I have subscribed to a magazine and have already read several books. I'm amazed at the speed they are delivered and so far every book I've looked for is available. Except Harry Potter! I know several reviews complain about the page buttons but I love their location and once you are conscious of their location they are not a nuisance.
Battery life.... I've charged twice in a month and I read every day!
I use the dictionary a lot more than I thought I would. I'm a member of several book clubs and love the notes and highlight feature. I'm able to contribute to discussions with ease.
I love my Kindle so much my daughter is getting one for Christmas!
